DHL Global Logistics Summit: SuperPanther and Daimler Truck in Dialogue on Zero-Carbon Logistics
Jul 28,2024

[2024.7.28] The DHL Summit 2024, titled "The Era of Sustainable Logistics," took place in July this year in Singapore. It served as a high-level forum, bringing together leading thinkers and practitioners from the global logistics and supply chain sectors. The summit gathered representatives from numerous major companies to discuss the feasibility and importance of decarbonization and to promote the sustainable development of the logistics industry. As an important partner of DHL and a leading provider of new energy truck technologies and ecosystems, SuperPanther was invited to participate and share its insights.

At the summit, Chao Liu, Founder and CEO of SuperPanther, engaged in a dialogue with Kyu-sang Cho, Vice President of Daimler Trucks Asia Pacific, and Fabio Sacchi, Global Head of EV Logistics Commercial Development at DHL Group. Their exchange of ideas and business insights on logistics was a highlight of the event.

Since its founding in 2022, SuperPanther has been committed to promoting technological innovation and the global deployment of new energy heavy-duty trucks. At this leading industry event, SuperPanther showcased the vitality and innovative spirit of new forces with its groundbreaking electric truck technology and deep understanding of green energy solutions. As a provider of new energy logistics solutions, SuperPanther's efforts and achievements in promoting carbon-free transportation and the green transformation of the logistics industry were met with great recognition and expectation from the attendees.

Tackling Global Climate Challenges with Cutting-Edge Technologies and Driving Change in Sustainable Logistics

With the record for the hottest day on Earth being broken again in 2024, and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events no longer seen as a coincidence, we are witnessing unprecedented strain on the planet due to rising carbon emissions. The logistics sector is a key area for reducing carbon emissions, particularly as truck transport accounts for a significant portion of emissions in logistics. According to the latest data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the transport sector is the third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases globally, responsible for 25% of total carbon emissions, and is one of the fastest-growing sectors in terms of emissions.

In response to this stark reality, many large companies worldwide have actively adopted carbon reduction initiatives by joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and setting clear goals to reduce carbon emissions, covering direct emissions (Scope 1), indirect emissions from energy use (Scope 2), and logistics-related supply chain emissions (Scope 3). These targets have evolved from being part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to becoming essential development objectives.

As an innovator and pioneer in the carbon-free era, SuperPanther has developed all the core technologies for a third-generation heavy-duty electric truck in-house. These include distributed electric drive axles with demand-based control algorithms, an integrated thermal management system, a 900V high-voltage platform, and a new EE architecture chassis domain controller. "By providing these advanced technologies, we offer our partners worldwide the most efficient and cost-effective eTrucks, while also helping various customers design and operate green energy supply networks tailored to their needs," said Chao Liu, as he explained the industry-leading energy efficiency of SuperPanther's eTruck, named Black Diamond, which is in series production. He highlighted how its innovative low-temperature heat pump technology significantly improves range in extremely cold conditions.

Software Redefines Traditional Rules, and Innovative Companies Revitalize Global Markets

The statement "Software will change the game" reflects SuperPanther’s confidence in pushing forward with in-house full-stack software development and vehicle digitalization.

With its AI-powered Intelligent Energy Management System (IEM), SuperPanther monitors energy flows throughout the vehicle using cloud data and offers customers continuous energy optimization solutions tailored to various driving conditions.

For sustainability, eTruck-based land transport must surpass the cost efficiency of fuel-powered vehicles over their entire lifecycle. SuperPanther firmly believes that the tipping point will soon be reached, even in Europe, which is considered one of the most demanding markets.

In September (16th-22nd) 2024, SuperPanther will participate in the IAA Commercial Vehicles Exhibition in Hannover under the theme "The Zero Carbon Transport Enabler," where it will unveil its future mass-produced European model and global development strategy. Chao Liu extended an invitation to other participants: "We welcome all friends and customers interested in SuperPanther and sustainable logistics and transportation to visit us at our booth." In anticipation of the world’s most significant commercial vehicle event, SuperPanther looks forward to sharing the stage with the world’s leading companies. More exciting announcements are expected to follow in Hannover.
